Feedback Across Our Programmes
"I had been trying to make sense of our household spending for a long time. The budget template they gave us during the sessions was genuinely helpful — it was already set up for Malaysian categories, so I did not have to adapt it from something designed for a different market."
Syarifah Noormin
Setapak, KL · March 2026
"The insurance programme changed how I approach conversations with agents. Before, I would just nod along because I did not understand what they were describing. Now I know what questions to ask. There was no pressure at all during the sessions — just straightforward explanations."
Farouk Ismail
Wangsa Maju, KL · February 2026
"My wife and I attended the Property Finance Readiness workshop together. We had been vaguely thinking about buying a home for a few years but never felt ready to start properly. After those four sessions we had a much clearer sense of what we needed to do first and what our realistic timeline was."
Lim Chee Weng
Kepong, KL · March 2026
"I appreciated that the facilitator for the household finance programme was willing to take questions at any point — even ones that felt basic. I had been embarrassed to admit I did not really understand what a sinking fund was. Nobody made me feel that was strange."
Nurul Ain Zulkifli
Chow Kit, KL · January 2026
"The takaful section of the insurance programme was particularly useful for me. I had always avoided it because I assumed it would be complicated. The facilitator explained the structure clearly and helped me understand what I was actually getting when I contribute to a takaful fund."
Mohammad Ridwan
Keramat, KL · February 2026
"What I valued most was that the property workshop was genuinely focused on preparing us — there was no push towards any developer or bank. The facilitator even explained what to watch out for in loan terms, which I had never heard explained so plainly before."
Tan Kai Ling

From the Programmes
A closer look at how a few participants approached their financial questions through Finhaven programmes.
Rohani & Shamsul — Household Finance Planning
Two-income household, Wangsa Maju · Cohort February 2026
Starting Point
Both worked full-time but found it difficult to understand where the combined household income was going each month. Variable utility bills and unplanned expenses kept disrupting any budgeting attempts they made.
Through the Programme
The sessions helped them identify spending patterns they had not seen clearly before. They adapted the household budgeting template to account for irregular expenses by building in a buffer category — something the facilitator introduced during session three.
After the Programme
They have maintained a working budget for two months since completing the programme. In their own words: the spreadsheet finally felt like something they understood rather than something they were supposed to understand.
"The thing that helped most was actually having time during the session to work through the template with our own numbers. It stopped being abstract."
Azlina — Property Finance Readiness
Single professional, Cheras · Cohort January 2026
Starting Point
Had been told by a bank officer that she did not earn enough to qualify for a home loan, but was not sure if this was accurate or if there were other options she had not explored. Wanted to understand her position properly before approaching another bank.
Through the Programme
The affordability calculation session helped her understand what ratio banks typically apply and how her income and existing commitments fitted into it. She also learned about the PR1MA scheme and its eligibility criteria, which she had not previously considered.
After the Programme
Left with the property readiness calculator and document checklist populated with her own details. She identified one existing commitment she could reduce within twelve months that would meaningfully improve her loan eligibility position.
"I came in thinking I just needed to earn more. I left with a clearer sense of what I could actually work on."
